Welcome home

Classic Christianity in a contemporary form

Kirken ACTS Vejle is a community for those who have believed all their lives and for those who are curious about faith. We gather around Jesus, life and faith, in community with one another.

Next service

Join us this Sunday

The Sunday service is the focal point of our week — a morning of worship, a message from the Bible and plenty of time to chat over coffee. You do not need to sign up or know anyone beforehand. Come as you are and find a seat. If Danish is not your first language, the sermon is interpreted into English.

Kirken ACTS

One church, two locations

Kirken ACTS is one community with locations in Vejle and Billund. We share a vision of classic Christianity in a contemporary form and seek to make Jesus present in the cities we are part of.

Vejle

You are here

Here on Vardevej we gather every Sunday and throughout the week.

Your first time with us?

It is perfectly okay to be new

It is completely normal to feel a little nervous when visiting somewhere new for the first time. Here are answers to the questions people ask most often.

  • What happens?

We sing together, pray and hear a message from the Bible. The atmosphere is relaxed — no one expects you to know the songs or do anything in particular.

  • How long does it last?

About an hour and a half. Afterwards there is coffee, and many people stay for a chat — but you are equally welcome to leave without anyone raising an eyebrow.

  • What about the children?

The children join us from the start and later go to a service designed for them. There they will experience a Bible story told creatively, along with fun, games and snacks. Younger children are, of course, welcome to stay with you.

  • Do I need to know anything beforehand?

No. There is no registration, no preparation and no requirement to believe in a particular way. Simply come in whatever you are wearing.

we look forward to meeting you

Sunday morning

What will you find at Kirken ACTS?

Worship during the service — musicians and congregation singing together

Worship

Through worship, we create space to honour God together, bring him our best and our worst, and give thanks. Join in, or simply listen.

Biblical teaching

The Bible means first and foremost what it meant to the earliest Christians. We therefore preach from the text and show how the same message can be lived out in 2026.

Children's church

Children's church often begins with worship, a short Bible story and prayer together. Afterwards there are snacks and games. Remember a change of clothes for the playground when the weather is good.

Community

We want to be one big church family where everyone is welcome. That is why community is an important part of everything we do.

Children and young people

Faith at a child's level

Children are not the church of the future — they are part of the church today. That is why we give them some of our very best: committed adults, safe spaces and stories they will remember.

Safe in our care

We want to give children our best. Our children's team consists of regular, familiar adults whom we support with training and development. We obtain the required child-safety certificate for every adult serving in children's church, so you can leave your child with confidence — and if your child feels safest on your lap, that is perfectly fine too.

Community throughout the week

More than Sunday

Sunday is our gathering point — but life is lived every day of the week. That is why Kirken ACTS is also found in living rooms, around dining tables and over cups of coffee across Vejle.

  • Life groups

Small communities that meet in homes to eat together, share life and faith, and walk alongside one another in everyday life.

  • Community for every age

From Fristedet's senior mornings to LOUD! and JOY for teens and young adults — there is a place for your stage of life.

    See all regular groups
  • Volunteering

The church is carried by people who lend a hand with coffee, tech, music or children's church. What you can offer is needed.

  • Conversation and prayer

Sometimes you need someone to listen — and to pray with you in a particular situation. You are always welcome to contact us.

Who we are

Part of something bigger.

Kirken ACTS Vejle is part of Apostolsk Kirke Danmark — a movement rooted in the Welsh Revival with more than 100 years of history in Denmark. Apostolsk Kirke is a network of churches that plant and build missional communities. We are also part of FrikirkeNet, which strengthens unity and cooperation among Danish free churches.

What we believe

Faith to live by

  • Jesus at the centre

Everything begins and ends with Jesus. His life, death and resurrection are the hope on which we build everything.

  • Biblical and relevant

We believe the Bible is God's word — and that it speaks into ordinary lives here and now.

  • An open community

Faith is not an entry ticket. The door is open to doubters, seekers and everyone in between.

Local engagement

For the city. For people. In everyday life.

Faith that never becomes action is only words. We want to make a visible difference in Vejle — not through campaigns, but through presence: shared meals, practical help and open doors.

  • Family network

A community for families when life feels difficult — with shared meals, activities for children and adults, and a helping hand when it is needed.

  • Community café & Foodbank

Every Monday morning there is coffee, community and food to take home for those who need it.

  • Christmas aid

Christmas food and gifts for families and people living alone in Vejle who are under financial pressure.

  • Halløj i Parken

A free festival for the whole family with bouncy castles, a craft tent, café, live music and a bonfire — created together with other churches and volunteers in Vejle.

Practical questions

Questions before your first visit

Do I need to register before I come?

No. Just turn up — the doors open half an hour beforehand, and someone will always be ready to say hello.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code — the only rule is that you wear clothes :D

Can I come if I am not a Christian?

Yes — and you will be far from the only one. You are welcome simply to listen, ask questions and take things at your own pace. No one will pressure you.

What is available for my children?

There is children's church every Sunday, where a regular team of adults will give them a warm welcome. If younger children would rather sit with you, that is absolutely fine.

Where is the church, and can I park?

We are at Vardevej 106 in Vejle, with free parking right outside the building. It is also a short bus ride from the city centre.

How do I become part of the community?

Start with a Sunday or two. The next natural step is a life group or a volunteer role — write to us and we will help you get started.
